New features in WebSite X5 2026.2. Automatic Responsive Optimization

In this article, we will look at a new version of program – 2026.2.2 Pro (64 bit). I will compare this version with the previous one – 2026.1.1 Pro (64 bit).

In this version of the program:

  • Automatic responsive optimization. A new smart optimization system has been introduced to seamlessly handle responsive design. It automatically adapts text size, line spacing, margins, and element spacing across different screen resolutions.
  • Smarter mobile scaling. Moving away from simply «scaling down» pages proportionally, the new engine preserves design quality, visual hierarchies, and reading rhythm. This ensures that headings still stand out and paragraphs remain easily readable on mobile devices.
  • Reduced manual adjustments. The update drastically cuts down the time spent manually checking and correcting layouts across different breakpoints, minimizing the risk of unbalanced mobile layouts.
  • Automated yet controllable. Users can simply enable the automatic optimization function to let WebSite X5 handle the heavy lifting for responsive behavior, while still maintaining full manual control over essential design parameters.

Most updates in version 2026.2 are automatic; you don't need to do anything or configure anything. However, a new tab, Text and Margins, has been added to Template - Responsive Design (picture below).

The image below shows an example of the same website page on a mobile device, but with and without the Enable automatic text and margin reduction option enabled. The left side of the image (top and bottom screenshots) shows the page without this option, while the right side (top and bottom screenshots) shows the page with this option enabled.
