I have been involved in website development since approximately 2008, and have worked specifically with Joomla since 2010. I use this CMS for almost all my projects, and I also maintain several personal websites built on it. From 2010 through May 2026, I have periodically received orders to restore websites after they were hacked. I have also frequently provided services for hardening sites against attacks. My personal website, Aleksius.com, has been hacked only once since its inception in January 2011.
In June and July 2026, I updated and configured security for more than 60 Joomla-based websites. About a third to a half of them had already been compromised. Importantly, these hacks were not related to the Joomla core, but rather to extensions from third-party developers. I have never encountered such a high volume of hacked sites in such a short period in my entire career. Notifications about discovered vulnerabilities and new versions with security patches began appearing for many popular Joomla extensions, such as JCE, Helix Ultimate, Helix 3, SP Page Builder, and others.

Video tutorial «HTTP Headers». Protecting Joomla from XSS, Clickjacking and other threats
- Type – built-in plugin to protect Joomla from attacks.
The «System. HTTP Headers» plugin in Joomla (starting with version 4) is designed to enhance website security by managing HTTP Security Headers directly from the control panel. Its main goal is to protect the site and its visitors from common cyberattacks (such as XSS, Clickjacking, data leakage, etc.).
This, and other extensions, do not give a 100% guarantee of site protection from hacking. But it can help increase site security.
